Supernatural Season 5 - Series Ender?

After what seems to be an eternity, I finally completed my Supernatural Season 4 download on uTorrent. I have been aching to watch this latest season after being cliff-hanged on Season 3.

Where we last left off on season 3, Dean dies in the hands or paws rather of the hellhounds after his deal has reached its deadline while dealing with Lilith in Ruby's body.

I am still watching the 4th season, and time would stand still again if I finish the season. But wait, there were rumors spread around that the 5th season would be the last for the Winchester brothers. And Eric Kripke, creator of Supernatural, confirmed this.

Eric Kripke had said that they had a 5 year plan for the Winchester brothers, (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles), and they had worked them both so hard over the year. And now, the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.

Who knows what's in store for the Winchester should the 5th season start? It's tad disappointing to know that one of the best TV series is coming to a complete end...

Supernatural Season 3

Finally,I got my hands on Supernatural Season 3, with 16 episodes. Yes 16 because of the recent Writer’s strike that took place.

Anyways, this season kicked off with the appearance of the 7 Deadly Sins, new heroines (?) and the plot of the series thickens with each episode. With the Winchester brothers facing dilemmas of their own, Dean having only a year to live and Sam having to deal with the fact that he’s bound to lead the armies of hell and to top it off, there are demons that are ready to fight for him but unfortunately as tasteful as this may seem, no demons come to aid the brothers.

I don’t want to reveal the entire plot of the series though. I just like to comment on a few things. The entire season lacked the action scenes compared to its predecessors and focused more on plot unraveling, hence more conversation and flashbacks. If you really want to watch the 3rd season, it’s best to catch up on a few things by watching the first 2 seasons again.

I had to because there were moments where scenes from season 1 and 2 were insignificant but were in fact a big part of the plot that would be unraveled in the 3rd season. The monsters and ghouls that disappointingly few and there were enemies that came back in the 3rd season. I’m never really a fan when an antagonist gets recycled unless they REALLY play an important part of a movie or TV show but if not, then I guess they just recycle monsters and bad guys just because the writers haven’t come up with anything (wait, I forgot, it was the Writer’s strike when this 3rd season was being made so I can’t blame them).

Anyway, it was worth the wait and I can’t wait to watch the 4th season.

TV Series Review: Supernatural

Starring Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki

The series revolves around the Winchester brothers, Dean and Sam. After their mother was murdered by a powerful demon, their father vowed vengeance and chased after the demon, taking Dean with him. Meanwhile, Sam leads a simple, normal life until his girlfriend suffered the same fate as his mother. Unbeknownst to him, Sam has not realized of his brother’s quest for a long time. At that time, Dean picked up Sam at the law school where Sam was currently attending and told him of what’s been going on. Parting ways with their father to chase after the demon, the two brothers end up going from town to town, killing monsters, exorcising spirits and picking up leads to the whereabouts of their father and the demon that killed their mother.

That pretty much sums up the entire synopsis of the series, now on its 4th season and of course, I have yet to watch season 3, this series is action packed with lots of twist and drama, and of course some wicked humor and the usual sibling rivalry. The monsters and ghouls that haunt the episodes are cool and scary to boot. Of course, the series wouldn’t be complete without monsters and ghouls, tackling some of the scariest urban legends and other campfire stories with a matching reference to boot. One cannot help but be drawn into the history and reference of the different kinds of ghouls in every episode. As the season goes on, more plots and twists develop, leaving viewers intrigued and begging for more. Some twists end up shocking the viewers, even me.

That’s all I can say for this series. I still have to watch Season 3 and I cannot wait to get my hands on Season 4. Till next time.
